Although some people say that they are currently working on a dark mode version, we will tell you later how to get it now, by changing some settings inside your smartphone or by downloading a third party app.
What are the Benefits of Dark Mode Snapchat?
Some internet users cannot go without dark mode. Here are their reasons, and why you should also think of using dark mode, whenever available or by setting your phone to change when you want to it.
Less painful for the eyes
If the lights are low and you suddenly find yourself on a web page or an application with a white background, your eyes will feel like they are burning. It is possible to remove that pain by using the dark mode, changing the background to a dark colour. That way, the amount of light getting into your eyes is much lower.
Keep the battery working longer
It is something all users of mobile phone and computer users know: The higher the level of light, the more energy it takes out of your battery. When you are comfortably lying in bed or snuggled under a cover on the sofa, you don’t want to have to get up to plug the phone. The electrical cable of the charger might not even be long enough to reach the nearest electricity outlet! Therefore, it is better to go on dark mode to save the energy of the battery, by using a level of light much lower than in the regular mode.
How to turn on Snapchat Night Mode?
As we have already explained, there is no dark mode inside Snapchat. However, you can turn it into dark mode by going in the settings of your phone. We will now explain how to do so for Android phones as well as for iPhones.
There are two ways you can go about, with your Android phone, to turn on Snapchat dark mode.
Turn on the dark mode in settings
Depending on the brand of your phone and its age, you may or may not have the dark mode option. You will find it, if available, in the settings of your phone. Once you are inside the settings section, type in the search bar: dark mode. If it exists, it will bring it up. Click on it, and it should transfer you into dark mode automatically.
Your whole phone will go into dark mode; not just the Snapchat app. But it will turn this application into dark mode, just like any other one on your phone, for as long as you don’t disable it.
Download a third party app
Your phone does not have the option for dark mode? No problem, you just have to download a dark mode third party app and you’ll be able to get your phone to do the same as if it was located in your settings. To do so, go to the Play Store, and find the Sub Stream Theme Engine app. Download it, and you’ll be able to use Snapchat dark mode.
To get dark mode Snapchat on an iPhone is technically impossible. You can change the colours on the phone (as you will see below), but if you really want the dark mode, the only way to get it is to jailbreak your phone. You should know that, to do so, will end your warranty. So, if you still have one, this may not be the best solution. If your warranty is over, then jailbreaking your phone is a good solution. It will not only enable you to add the dark mode, but many other options you don’t currently have.
Otherwise, here is how you can adjust the colours on your iPhone:
First, open the Settings option before clicking on “General.” There you will find the option “Accessibility” which you need to choose. Go on to “Display Accommodations” from where you will be able to invert the colours, bringing you instantly into some kind of dark mode (for all apps and pages that have a light coloured background).
