Every time a message is forwarded or replied to, the > character gets added to the head of each line by default. Some messages have 2, 3 or more of these characters in front of each line. To turn these off, open the Outlook Express main screen: 1) Click on Tools, then Options. This opens the options window. 2) Click on the Send tab, and go to the 'Mail Sending Format' section. · If you have HTML selected as your Mail Sending Format, click on the HTML button. Uncheck the 'Indent message on reply' checkbox. · If you have 'Plain Text' selected as your Mail Sending Format, click on the ‘Plain Text’ button.
